The Holtzman Wedding
“Finding the right band was one of our top wedding priorities. We wanted to make sure the set list didn’t include “Celebrate Good Times,” “We Are Family,” or “The Chicken Dance;” in other words we were looking for a band you’d be more likely to find at a bar than at a wedding, but at the same time a band that knows how to get a wedding party going and keep everyone dancing.
PLAYED OUT was the perfect choice, and the following is a summary of reasons why we’d recommend them to any soon-to-be married couple in search of the right musical act.
1) Professional: PLAYED OUT was extremely helpful and responsive during the months leading up to our wedding. They would quickly answer any questions that we had, and did a great job explaining all parts of the process, so we knew exactly was going on.
2) Collaborative: Unlike many wedding bands that have a canned set list, PLAYED OUT worked with us to incorporate the songs we wanted to hear in addition to some of their favorite songs to play that they they knew from experience would be a hit — everything from Bob Marley to Jack Johnson to Michael Jackson to Sublime, they spanned multiple musical genres and eras.
3) Energetic: PLAYED OUT consists of fantastic entertainers. Not only are they great musicians and a tight band that has clearly played together for years, but they’re able to get everyone on the dance floor… even my grandma!
4) Comprehensive: Another great thing about PLAYED OUT is they took care of everything. Besides providing the musical entertainment for the evening, they DJ’d in between sets and MC’d the entire event, including the wedding introductions, first dance, etc. We were surprised by how smoothly the reception went, and it’s thanks to them.
To reiterate, I would highly recommend PLAYED OUT for a wedding. We went in with high expectations, and they were blown out of the water. Check out one of their shows, and see for yourself.”

“Our wedding wouldn’t have been the same without PLAYED OUT. I know for sure it wouldn’t have been half as fun. We knew at the onset of planning we wanted a band although neither one of us had been to a wedding with a band so needless to say we were a bit apprehensive. I can’t believe we ever had doubts.
From the very beginning PLAYED OUT worked closely with us on timing and all of the music selections and even learned a couple songs including our First Dance, “Crazy Love” by Van Morrison (which they performed perfectly). The night of the reception and even since coming back We have had countless guests come up to us to express their enjoyment and how much they liked the band in particular. The dance floor was never empty – the band flowed seamlessly from their sets into the breaks.
The band clearly put a lot of thought into their song selection and timing. The band also worked with my husband to set him and his friend up to play a song with them. It was one of the biggest hits of the night.
PLAYED OUT isn’t your typical wedding band – you’ll not only want to get up out of your seat and dance to all of their songs but you’ll be singing along to most of them as will your parents and the rest of your guests! We would highly recommend using PLAYED OUT to all of our friends.”
